Mike Gallimore attended the HE STEM Programme Conference at the University of Birmingham on the 4-6 September. Mike presented a paper entitled ‘Improving Mathematics Support through On-line Diagnostics and Student Mentoring’ which outlined the new on-line maths support system developed by Mike with funding gained from the Higher Education Academy. The system is currently in use by the School as a way of diagnosing maths support requirements and encouraging student-to-student support. The system gained significant interest and praise from many leading academics in the STEM community and is considered one of the most innovative systems for aiding student transition in to Higher Education.
