Delegates from Hunan University of Technology visited Lincoln’s School of Engineering facilities and staff to discuss future research collaborations.
Hunan University of Technology (HUT) is a multi-disciplinary university located in Zhuzhou city, located in the south of China.
The visit marks the first interaction between Hunan and Lincoln higher education counterparts and was hosted by University of Lincoln’s School of Engineering together with Siemens.
The two universities discussed future collaborations for research and education, including student and staff exchange opportunities to include joint supervision of PhD students leading to PhD’s at both Lincoln and Hunan.
Professor Luo Dingti of HUT signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ alongside Lincoln’s Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Andrew Hunter to mark the potential long term collaboration between HUT and University of Lincoln.
Visitors were given a tour of the new Isaac Newton Building facilities, Siemens turbine hall and simulator, and the School’s materials and bio lab.
HUT has strong links with the largest railway company CRRC and after seeing the University/Siemens cooperation format, they hope to use a similar model to build industry links with CRRC in the future.
