School of Engineering at IFAC Conference 2017

On 14th July 2017, over 3500 Control Engineers from around the world gathered in Toulouse, France, for the IFAC Conference (International Federation of Automatic Control).

Our School’s Dr Rebecca Margetts (pictured) demonstrated her work and research at this event, as well as attending a session which celebrated women in IFAC. Keynote speakers were Prof Kristin Pettersen and Prof Dawn Tilbury Dr Margetts also had the opportunity to meet influential women in industry, such as Professor Sarah Spurgeon, OBE.

Dr Margetts said, “It was refreshing to be in a large group of female engineers, celebrating how far we’ve come since the days of one or two women at an engineering conference.”
