Head of School elected President of IAVSD

Head of School, Professor Timothy Gordon was elected President of the International Association for Vehicle System Dynamics (IAVSD).

The 25th International Symposium on Dynamics of Vehicles on Roads and Tracks was held at CQUniversity Rockhampton North campus, Queensland, Australia on 14th-18th August 2017.

The event focussed on many system dynamics, including tyres, wheels, braking and aerodynamics to driver assistance systems, autonomous driving and condition monitoring.

Whilst at the IAVSD bi-ennial symposium in Gothenburg, Sweden, Prof Gordon received his post as President. The IAVSD was formed in 1977 to promote the development of the ‘Science of Vehicle Dynamics’ (a discipline that is based upon the theory of motion of ground-based vehicle systems) and to encourage engineering applications of this field of science. The official journal associated with this group is the esteemed International Journal of Vehicle System Dynamics.
