Students from the School of Engineering showcased the fruits of their labour at Lincoln’s SPARK! Engineering Festival in Lincoln Cathedral.

The festival is a celebration of Lincolnshire’s Engineering Past, Present & Future and took place in Lincoln Cathedral 3rd – 5th May 2019.

As part of their studies at Lincoln, the third-year Mechanical Engineering students, Dominic, Chris and Ghada worked closely with the designer, Jim Brown, to help him in his attempt on the world land speed record for a 175cc motorcycle. Their project work was on show at the festival and the group contributed engine telemetry, a novel fairing design for the bike and a head-up instrument display.
Also on display at the festival were the School of Engineering’s interactive displays involving hybrid bond graphs to investigate discontinuities in contact models.
